The fade offers a moment like an adjective, modifying what was originally seeen/read. The trick here is to utilize the properties of type and not rely solely on the opacity (although it creates a nice after-image). Since changes in point size are scale issues, the manipulation of size brings to mind other transitions, particularly zoom. The fade becomes most interesting over varying durations, which will be explored in subsequent studies. |
