Movie Credits : Word Play |

The project was to “jam” a prescription up against a personal interest to see what new forms might occur. I worked with the prescription that end credits in a film scroll up the screen. The initial stages of the project included tracing the historical lineage of the scrolling end credits. The credit “crawl” has been technically acheivable since the 1920s, however did not become common until the late 1970s. One of the personal interests I chose to influence the end credit prescription was word play. The above study experiments with anagrams. There is a descriptive phrase about the character (in this case, presidents) that has the same letters as the name. |
