Written language attempts to capture the separation, emphasis, and connection found in spoken language through punctuation. Each serve to create a rhythm and pacing throughout an utterance. In time-based typography, punctuation is no longer needed, but needs to be replaced with the elements of separation, emphasis, and connection found in the spoken. |
